The Songs of Leiber and Stoller
Words & Music by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller

As much as anyone, Leiber and Stoller invented rock n roll and their music and their songs provide the basis for an electrifying entertainment that illuminates a golden age of American culture.  In an idealized '50's setting, the classic themes of love won, lost and imagined blend with hilarious set-pieces and slice-of-life emotions.  Leavened by the light-hearted determination never to take anything too seriously, SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE isn't just great pop music-it's compelling musical theatre as well.

Just a few of the great musical numbers you'll hear include:  Young Blood, Searchin', Trouble, Poison Ivy, On Broadway, Yakety Yak, Charlie Brown, Love Potion #9, Spanish Harlem, Stand by Me, and I'm a Woman.

Seussical
Music by Stephen Flaherty
Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens
Book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty
Co-Conceived by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Eric Edle
Based on the Works of Dr. Seuss

After all those years being stuck on a page,
Did you ever imagine you’d see me onstage?
Now I’m here, there is no telling what may ensue!
No, there’s no telling what!
But I’ll give you a clue..."

So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville!

These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages

In a small kingdom in medieval times, Prince Dauntless is looking for a bride. A dozen girls have already been tested and rejected as unsuitable by his mother, the talkative Queen Aggravain, who dominates the kingdom and her mute husband, King Sextimus. The marriage law of the land states "no one may wed until Dauntless shares his marriage bed" and the lords and ladies of the court are distressed. There is definitely An Opening for a Princess here.

Based on The Princess and the Pea, this musical version is sure to delight theatre goers of all ages.

Jesus Christ Superstar

Jesus Christ Superstar
Lyrics by Tim Rice     Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber

It seems especially fitting that the first rock opera, created as a concept album at the end of the '60's, should have at its center a social and political rebel.  Jesus' meteor-like rise in renown provides, as the title suggests, a parallel to contemporary celebrity worship.  As His radical teachings are evermore embraced, Judas increasingly questions the enlightened motives of this new prophet, resulting in betrayal.  Christ's final days are dramatized with emotional intensity, thought-provoking edge and explosive theatricality.  JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart.

Originally produced on broadway by Robert Stigwood, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR opened on Broadway on October 12, 1971 and played for 720 performances.
